About RSDO Training

Experience-Led Training For Health & Social Care Environments

RSDO Training was established in 2013 to provide professional, realistic training that reflects the environments people work in every day.

RSDO Training is a Towcester-based health and social care training provider delivering onsite and remote training nationwide across care homes, supported living services, residential settings, schools and other organisations throughout the UK, alongside flexible Zoom-based delivery where appropriate.

Over the years, we have supported more than 700 care homes and trained thousands of staff across a wide range of environments, helping organisations build confidence, improve safety and support their teams with training that is practical, relevant and engaging.

Built On Real Experience

RSDO Training was founded by Andy Williams, whose background in teaching, coaching and frontline professional roles spans several decades.

Before establishing RSDO Training, Andy spent many years within the police service, where he worked as both a tutor and sergeant. Alongside this, he also built extensive experience in coaching, instruction and training roles dating back to the 1980s, including work within sport, fitness and personal development.

Following retirement from the police, Andy continued developing his teaching and assessment qualifications before moving further into specialist training environments including physical intervention, behaviour support, conflict management and health & social care training.

What began through personal safety and self-defence instruction has since evolved into a trusted training business supporting organisations across the care sector.

Supporting The Care Sector With Practical Training

One of the things that sets RSDO Training apart is the breadth of environments we have worked within over the years.

Our experience includes supporting:

  • care homes
  • nursing homes
  • supported living services
  • residential care environments
  • dementia care settings
  • children’s homes
  • mental health services
  • learning disability support services
  • schools and educational settings

Working across such a wide range of environments has provided valuable insight into the challenges staff face every day. No two settings are the same, and training should reflect that.

Having worked across hundreds of care environments over the years, Andy brings a broad understanding of the challenges staff can face, from communication and behaviour support through to conflict management and maintaining staff confidence within demanding settings.

Rather than relying heavily on theory-based delivery, our approach focuses on realistic situations, communication, confidence building and practical techniques that staff can apply within their roles.

RSDO Training also incorporates learning and approaches influenced by Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care dementia workshops, helping strengthen understanding around dementia support, communication and person-centred approaches within care environments.

Qualifications & Professional Development

Andy Williams holds a range of training and instructional qualifications connected to health and social care, physical intervention and workplace training delivery.

Qualifications and training areas currently include:

  • First Aid Trainer
  • Moving & Handling Trainer
  • Physical Intervention Trainer
  • Level 3 Award in Education & Training

RSDO Training also continues to invest in ongoing professional development and specialist sector training.

Flexible Training That Works Around Real Care Environments

Care services do not operate on a standard 9 to 5 schedule, and training often needs to work around the realities of shift patterns, staffing pressures and operational demands.

RSDO Training provides both onsite and remote training delivery, with sessions arranged around the needs of the organisation wherever possible. This includes supporting daytime teams, evening staff and night workers who can often struggle to access training opportunities during standard working hours. Additional associate trainers may also support delivery where appropriate depending on organisational requirements and course delivery needs.

Our aim is to make training accessible, supportive and relevant to the people attending it.

Practical, experience-led training for real working environments.

Professional Standards & Safeguarding

RSDO Training understands the importance of professionalism, safeguarding and trust within health and social care environments.

Andy Williams holds a current DBS certificate, with additional trainers also DBS checked where applicable.

RSDO Training also holds Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance and maintains safeguarding awareness and safeguarding-related procedures appropriate to the environments supported.

Training That Reflects Real Working Environments

We believe effective training should be practical, engaging and relevant to the environments people work within every day.

Training is delivered in a supportive and approachable way, encouraging participation, discussion and confidence building rather than simply working through generic classroom material.

The focus is always on helping staff feel better equipped, more confident and more prepared to support the people in their care.

Long-Term Relationships Built On Trust

Much of our work comes through repeat business, referrals and long-standing professional relationships developed over many years within the sector.

Clients value the approachable delivery style, alongside training that reflects genuine experience rather than generic, box-ticking content.

We believe good training should do more than simply meet requirements. It should help staff feel more confident in their roles and better equipped to support the people in their care.

Looking Ahead

As RSDO Training continues to grow, the focus remains the same. Delivering realistic, experience-led training that organisations can trust.

Whether supporting care providers with physical intervention and conflict management training, dementia awareness, autism awareness or moving and handling, our goal is always to provide professional training that reflects the realities of modern care environments and the people working within them.
